Newsroom (September 1, 2021, 20:40 PM, Gaudium Press) The Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte celebrated last Monday, August 30, the memory of Blessed Father Eustachio, also known as the Missionary of Health and Peace.
Sanctuary dedicated to Blessed Father Eustachio
The Shrine in Belo Horizonte dedicated to Blessed Father Eustachio remained open to the faithful throughout the day. Visitors could also visit the site of the Memorial where the mortal remains of the Blessed are kept and pray there.
The Metropolitan Archbishop of Belo Horizonte, Dom Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo, also president of the National Conference of Brazilian Bishops (CNBB), presided over a Holy Mass at 7:00 p.m. The missionaries of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts and pilgrims from the Archdiocesan Shrine of Health and Peace attended the Mass.

In his homily, the prelate stressed the need to remember this date: because the world needs to be inspired by admirable personalities, such as Blessed Father Eustachio. “In him, we contemplate the light of the face of the one who is the Supreme Missionary of health and peace: Jesus Christ. Our sick world needs health and peace,” he said.
Died on August 30, 1943, Blessed Father Eustachio is remembered as a man who welcomed each believer with greetings of ‘health and peace”. Up to this day, many faithful who feel touched in their hearts by his outstanding missionary presence offer prayers to him, trusting in his intercession. His beatification took place in 2006. (EPC)
