Easter Triduum

On his third trip to Ukraine, the Pontifical Emcee, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, will celebrate the Easter Triduum in the war-torn country.

Newsroom (15/1045/2022 11:54 AM, Gaudium Press) Pope Francis has again sent Cardinal Konrad Krajewski on a mission to Ukraine.

In fact, since the beginning of the war, this is the third time that the Polish Cardinal and pontifical Almoner has travelled to the war-torn country.

Delivery of the second ambulance donated by the Pope

On Holy Thursday, April 14, the Cardinal delivered the second ambulance donated by the Pope to Ukraine.

Cardinal Krajewski said that the vehicle is “a symbol, not only for saving lives but also a symbol of the possible resurrection of Ukraine.”

During the handover of the vehicle to the staff of the Cardiological hospital in Kyiv, the Cardinal said that everyone there is willing to be like a good Samaritan and help any people: even Russians who eventually may need it.

Easter Triduum among the Ukrainian people

In an interview with the Vatican News Agency, the Cardinal noted that “it is enough to go out not far from Kyiv to find the deepest signs of war, even dead people.”

This Good Friday, he will make the Stations of the Cross with the Apostolic Nuncio privately in the places where the real “Passion of Christ” is taking place.

The Cardinal will remain the whole Easter Triduum among the Ukrainians and said that the Pope sent him “to be among the people; not to take pictures or travel, but to stay and preach.”

Cardinal Krajewski hopes that this Resurrection Sunday will also be a resurrection for the country itself. (FM)
