In the heartfelt video, Pope Francis expresses deep concern about the growing influence of new technologies in everyday life. He encourages people to focus less on screens and more on real human interactions. “How I wish we would look less at screens and more into each other’s eyes!” he said, urging a return to meaningful face-to-face connections.
Technology Should Serve Human Dignity
The Holy Father warns against the overuse of technology, noting that excessive screen time can diminish the awareness of real human presence. He reminds the faithful that while technology is a gift from God, it should be used wisely and ethically, ensuring it benefits all people, not just a privileged few. “If we spend more time with our phones than with people, something is wrong,” Pope Francis cautions.
