A month after the volcano eruption began on the island of La Palma, various celebrations have taken place on the island, pleading for it to stop.

Newsroom (October 22, 2021, 11:00 AM, Gaudium Press) The dean of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows had already offered material aid to the population affected by the Cumbre Vieja volcano in La Palma (Canary Islands). He offered jewelry, chains, bracelets, and gold rings from the outstanding heritage belonging to the Shrine, which has “devotional and economic value” but “no historical or artistic value.” “These pieces can acquire a new meaning, becoming part of the solidarity and aid action of the shrine,” he added.

Mons. Bernardo Álvarez, Bishop of Tenerife, prayed during a service at the Our Lady of the Snows shrine that God would intervene and stop the eruption of the volcano:

“We ask the Lord to appease this volcano so that it does not cause more damage, give strength and encourage each of us to commit to minimizing its effects, because we must not only give; but “give ourselves,” continued the bishop. He also asked those present for prayers. “Count on me; we tell God when we pray.” “Prayer for this situation is also an act of solidarity and affection,” he reminded.
