Newsroom 22/11/2021 12:15pm, Gaudium Press) A relic of St. John Paul II has been stolen from the Basilica of the Blessed Sacrament, located in the heart of the Argentine capital.

The announcement was made by the rector of the Polish Catholic Mission, Fr. Jorge Jacek Twarog. According to the priest, the theft was confirmed on Sunday, November 21.

The relic arrived in Argentina in 2016 and was displayed in a reliquary containing a drop of blood of St. John Paul II.

Father Twarog himself received the relic from the hands of Cardinal Stanislao Dziwisz, Archbishop of Krakow, in 2016.

The parish priest, Fr. Rafael Caceres Olave, reported that the necessary steps have been taken to find the relic and asked for prayers so the relic can be recovered as soon as possible. (FM)
