Marian Statue from Ephesus visits Spain

Begun on May 1, the “Come, Mother!” Pilgrimage aims to recall the apparition of Our Lady to the apostle St. James during the evangelization of Spain.

Newsroom (August 23, 2021 4:59 PM, Gaudium Press) On August 21-22, a pilgrim Statue of Our Lady from Ephesus visited the Spanish Archdiocese of Seville.

The pilgrimage takes the image of the Mother of God to different Marian Shrines in Spain and has a suggestive name: “The Mother comes!”
At first, the image visited the parish of San Sebastian and continued to the youth pastoral center of the Sacred Heart Church in Seville.

On Saturday 21st, flowers were offered to Our Lady, followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass. On the same day, the Holy Rosary was recited along with some readings dedicated to the Mother of God. The day concluded with a prayer vigil and adoration to the Blessed Sacrament.

On Sunday 22nd, the program continued with activities organized by the youth, such as the recitation of the Rosary, while priests were available to administer the sacrament of Reconciliation as determined by the Archdiocese of Seville followed by Vespers and
an act of consecration of the youth to Mary Immaculate.

“Come, Mother!” Pilgrimage

Begun on May 1, the “Come, Mother!” Pilgrimage aims to recall the apparition of Our Lady to the apostle St. James during the evangelization of Spain as an opportunity for the re-evangelization of the country.

The initiative came from a group of lay people from the Diocese of Getafe, Madrid, under the guidance of the Vicariate of Secular Apostolate of the Diocese. The pilgrimage is expected to conclude on October 12, at Cerro de los Ángeles, near Cerro de los Ángeles. (EPC)
