Newsroon (21/04/2025 Gaudium Press) The Catholic world is in mourning following the news that Pope Francis died on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88.
Pope Francis’ Health Struggles:
Pope Francis had been suffering from various health issues and was admitted on February 14, 2025, to the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital in Rome for bronchitis treatment. Further tests revealed bilateral pneumonia. On March 23, he was discharged and continued his recovery at Casa Santa Marta.
Vatican Announces Pope Francis Died:
The Vatican confirmed that Pope Francis died through an official statement by Camerlengo Kevin Joseph Farrell, delivered from Casa Santa Marta, the Pope’s official residence:
“Dear brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow, I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the Father’s house.
His life was devoted to serving the Lord and His Church. He taught us to live the Gospel values with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially for the poor and marginalized.
With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend his soul to the infinite merciful love of the Triune God.”
