The Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Paray-le-Monial celebrates the 350th anniversary of Jesus’ apparitions to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.

Newsroom (04/06/2024 13:33, Gaudium Press) The rector of the shrine in Paray le Monial, Father Etienne Kern, has released the text of the letter he sent to the Pope on April 25, requesting the renewal of the consecration of the Church and the world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 2025.

“The shrine wishes to propose to the whole Church and the whole world a path of spiritual and missionary renewal to revive the message of love, reparation, and hope that the Sacred Heart of Jesus offered the world through St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.”

The shrine of Paray-le-Monial is promoting “a campaign of personal, family, and ecclesial consecration to the Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary” throughout the world. This consecration to the Heart of Jesus will be solemnized on his feast day, June 27, 2025, the anniversary of the apparition at Paray-le-Monial, in which Jesus said to Saint Margaret Mary: “This is the Heart that loved men so much”.

The rector asks the Pope, as the first shepherd of the Church, to present all these personal, family, parish, and ecclesial consecrations to God, renewing the consecration of the Church and the world to the Heart of Jesus, “Cor Iesu, Spes Mundi”, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This letter highlights 4 jubilees that will be celebrated in 2025:

– the Jubilee of the Pilgrims of Hope

– the celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the end of the first ecumenical council held in Nicaea.

– the 100th anniversary of Pius XI’s encyclical Quas Primas, where he established the feast of Christ the King, through which “the whole human race was consecrated to that Divine Heart”.

– the 350th anniversary of the “great apparition” at Paray-le-Monial, on the octave of the Feast of Corpus Christi in June 1675.
