In the Sacred Heart is the symbol and express image of the Infinite Love of Jesus Christ, which leads us to return this Love to Him.
Newsdesk (June 10 2021 15:17, Gaudium Press) This Friday, June 11, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. During this liturgical feast, which occurs exactly 19 days after Pentecost, we celebrate the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ for each of us.
In one of his apparitions to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, Our Lord revealed the extent of this love when he said: “Behold the Heart that loved men so much that it spared nothing until it exhausted and consumed itself to manifest its love for them. And in recognition, I receive from most of them nothing but ingratitude, contempt, irreverence, sacrilege, coldness that they have towards me in this Sacrament of love”.
Being aware of the importance of this devotion and of all the benefits that it offers to Catholics who surrender body and soul to this Divine love, many Popes and Saints have spoken on the subject. We have selected some phrases that have been said throughout the history of the Church that can serve for our reflection on this special day.
