Vatican City (06/03/2025 10:00, Gaudium Press) – On Tuesday, June 3, Pope Leo XIV received the two new ambassadors to the Holy See from Australia and the Dominican Republic in audience at the Apostolic Palace.
Keith John Pitt, from Australia (age 55), and Victor Valdemar Suárez Díaz, from the Dominican Republic (age 53), presented their letters of credence to the Pontiff, officially beginning their diplomatic missions at the Vatican.

Born on August 31, 1969, Keith John Pitt is married and has three children. He holds a degree in Engineering from the Queensland University of Technology, located in the northeast of Australia. Before entering public service, he worked as an electrical engineer, electrician, entrepreneur, and farmer.
Pitt served as Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister (2016, 2018) and as Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment (2016–2017). He also held the position of Minister for Resources, Water and Northern Australia (2020–2021) and later as Minister for Resources and Water (2021–2022). From 2013 to 2024, he was a Member of the Federal Parliament representing the Hinkler electorate.
Victor Valdemar Suárez Díaz, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic
Born on November 6, 1971, Victor Valdemar Suárez Díaz is married and has two children. He studied at the Technological University of Santiago in the Dominican Republic and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law, a Master’s in International Relations, and a Diploma in the Dominican Criminal Procedure Code from the National School of the Public Ministry.
