The Vatican (Monday, 01-26-2015, Gaudium Press) Pope Francis issued a heartfelt appeal on Sunday for Ukraine saying, “I am following with deep concern the escalation of the fighting in eastern Ukraine, which continues to cause many casualties among the civilian population. As I assure you of my prayers for all who suffer, I renew a heartfelt appeal for a resumption in dialogue and an end to all hostilities.”
The Holy Father made the appeal following the recitation of the Marian prayer from his studio above St Peter’s Square.
