This initiative, which has been running for several years, aims to promote Eucharistic Adoration, particularly Perpetual Adoration, and to encourage ecclesial communion around the Eucharist and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. It also favors the exchange of experiences and knowledge around the Eucharistic devotion.
Among the attendees are Cardinal Antonio Cañizares, Archbishop of Valencia, who will speak about the Eucharistic mystery. Also expected are Bishops José Ignacio Munilla of San Sebastian, Bishop Demetrio Fernández de Córdoba and Bishop Francisco Cerro. The Archbishop of Madrid, The Most Reverend Carlos Osorio, will close the meeting with a special Mass to be held on Sunday, February 8.
Perpetual adoration in Spain has been grown in numbers in recent years. Some years ago there were only eleven throughout Spain, but presently there are 33, which are animated by the faithful and supported by the diocese. They operate every day of the week 24 hours a day.
The Missionaries of the Holy Eucharist explain that: ” In Spain, Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration carries a merit because in times when our churches are often closed, a chapel is always open for anyone who wants to pray at any time of the day or night. The open arms of Jesus are ready to welcome everyone… ‘Open the doors to Christ open them widely! ‘”.
“The Chapel of Perpetual Adoration is the source of living water that quenches the thirst of life. It is a beacon in the night of this world, it is a gateway to heaven that remains always open.” They continue.

Another purpose of the meeting is to encourage the creation of more chapels of perpetual adoration in Spain. They already have the support of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration for Europe. The three conditions necessary to establish Perpetual Adoration in a parish are: “A pastor who wants the perpetual adoration chapel or oratory dedicated solely for perpetual adoration, with outside access and service for the night, and a team of highly motivated parishioners to organize and supervise the perpetual adoration “.
Countless are the fruits of the Eucharistic adoration, they include conversion, healing past wounds, forgiveness, the birth of vocations to the priesthood and religious life and marriage.
