Newsroom (03/07/2025 13:38, Gaudium Press) An important survey by the Pew Research Center reveals important data about Catholic practices and devotions in the US:
Half of American Catholic adults in the 2025 survey said they prayed every day.
28% say they go to Mass weekly. Among those who go to Mass every week, 65% receive Communion.
23% say they go to confession at least once a year, while 47% say they never go to confession.
In total, 13% of American Catholics perform all three of these practices. Another 15% say they do two of them, and 31% do only one of them. On the other hand, 40% don’t do any of them. They don’t go to Mass every week. Some don’t go to confession at least once a year. Many don’t pray every day.
Catholics remain the largest Christian group, representing 19% of the American population.
The data suggests that, along with the campaign to revive faith in the Eucharist, there should be a campaign to deepen the benefits of the indispensable Sacrament of Confession.
