Lamentable is the hardness of the human heart, which often only thinks of the present and does not prepare for the future.

Newsdesk (31/05/2023 11:02, Gaudium Press)If you are not prepared today, how will you be tomorrow? Tomorrow is uncertain, who knows if you will get there?

In the morning consider that you may not reach nightfall; and at night, do not count on the possibility of arriving at the next day. For this reason, always be prepared and live in such a way that death never catches you unawares.

For many die suddenly and unexpectedly; for “the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect” (Lk 12:40). When that extreme hour comes, in a very different way you will begin to judge all your past life, and you will greatly regret having been so negligent and lax.

You can do a lot of good while you are healthy, but you don’t know what you will be capable of when you are sick (…).

It is better to make timely provision for good works and to send them ahead of you, than to wait on the assistance of others.

Courage, brother! You cannot imagine how many dangers and how much worry you can free yourself from, if, now, you always think of death with fear and trepidation. Learn now to die to the world in order to begin to live with Christ.
