Italy – Rome (May 19, 2022, 10:05 AM, Gaudium Press) The Diocese of Rome, Italy, is promoting a pilgrimage of young people on the Way of St. James of Compostela. The event is being organized by the diocesan service in collaboration with the Roman Work of Pilgrimages.
Camino de Santiago for young people
Young people will have until May 30 to sign up for the “Camino de Santiago for youth,” which, according to the Diocese of Rome, will be “an unmissable experience of travel and Faith, for which the program is already ready.”
The pilgrimage will begin at 6 pm on July 29, when the buses will depart from Rome, from Piazza San Giovanni Laterano to Civitavecchia. There they will board the ship Grimaldi, which will depart for Barcelona.
Visit to the Sanctuary of Lourdes
They are expected to arrive in Barcelona the next day, where they will attend Mass in the church of the Sagrada Familia. Then they will go by bus to Ferrol, from where, on August 1st, they will start the Road to Santiago, walking the so-called English Way.
The young pilgrims will pass through Pontedeume, Betanzos, Mesón do Vento, Ordes, Sigüeiro and finally Santiago. An excursion to Finisterre is also planned. On August 8, the bus will take them to Lourdes, where they will spend a day and a night. The return to Rome is scheduled for August 10. (EPC)
