Newsroom (30/11/2021 14:30, Gaudium Press) Yesterday, November 29, Pope Francis received the Prelate of Opus Dei, Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz and the auxiliary vicar, Msgr. Mariano Fazio.
The meeting took place in the morning and lasted about 30 minutes. During the conversation, the Opus Dei authorities detailed the various apostolic activities of the Prelature.
Mgr. Fernando Ocáriz also explained the process of simplifying the organizational structures of the Work as to “improve the thrust and coordination of the apostolic works,” the Prelature informed.
The Pope was pleased and, he added: “it is important that everyone be in the streets doing apostolate.” Francis also wished that all the faithful of Opus Dei would faithfully live the spirit of the foundation in dealing with the challenges of today’s world.
The Pope also urged every member of Opus Dei to spread truthfulness amidst a superficial and often unjust world.
The Prelate presented the Pontiff with two books in Chinese about St. Joseph, written by two members of the Prelature. Francis, in turn, gave them two copies of “Statio Orbis” from March 2020. (FM)
