THE PROPOSAL IS TO OFFER PARTICIPANTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN AN IN-DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF THIS RELIC AND TO SHARE IT AS A MEANS OF EVANGELIZATION.

Newsroom(19/06/2025 11:53, Gaudium Press) For the academic year 2025/2026, the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome is promoting two special courses, which can be followed in person or online, on the Holy Shroud.

Through this initiative, participants will be able to gain an in-depth understanding of this relic and share it as a means of evangelization. Registration for both courses, which will be held in October this year, is open to anyone interested in the subject.

Courses to learn more about the Holy Shroud

The first course, “Diploma in Shroud Studies”, can be taken in three languages: Italian, English and Spanish. It is aimed at clerics and lay people, teachers and researchers, as well as journalists and all those who wish to delve into the vast and rich field of syndonic studies with an interdisciplinary approach.

The second course, entitled “The Shroud and the Instruction of the Catholic Religion”, will be offered in Italian and is aimed at teachers, students, educators, catechists and all those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Holy Shroud.

Who is the Man in the Shroud?” exhibition

An important initiative that involves the Othonia Research Group and is also present at the Athenaeum is the “Diffuse Exhibition” project, which continues to take life-size copies of the Shroud to all the churches that request it, both in Italy and abroad. In addition, an exhibition entitled “Who is the Man in the Shroud?” has been installed in the Basilica of San Giovanni Battista dei Fiorentini in Rome.

According to the Athenaeum’s website, “The exhibition allows us to contemplate and experience the Holy Shroud with even greater commitment, taking advantage of the Jubilee Year as a path of conversion and hope. The Holy Shroud is a unique relic that offers the opportunity to contemplate and reflect on the mystery of Easter. For this reason, it is proposed as a privileged instrument for the New Evangelization.” (EPC)
