The prophecies of Fatima have a profound meaning, as they constitute the last link in a chain that connects Heaven to earth.
Newsdesk (13/05/2025 08:15, Gaudium Press) On this the 13th May 2025, we celebrate 108 years since the first apparition of Our Lady to the three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. The message revealed there gives rise to a special hope for humanity, given the historical process to which it has been subjected for seven thousand years.
Indeed, the words of Our Lady to the three little shepherds invite us to raise our sights – corrupted by a materialistic, mechanized world devoid of religiosity – to consider new horizons: those of the Kingdom of Mary that is emerging, whose dawn begins to tinge some mountain peaks with gold, heralding the promised midday.
Under the sovereign and grandiose gaze of God, the history of humanity forms a single great whole that encompasses the most remote past, a very troubled present, and the most distant future. Thus, the message of Fatima, dictated on the occasion of the various apparitions of Our Lady, must be evaluated by us in light of the global vision of all the centuries, which unfolds at the feet of Jesus and whose marvelous plot places in irreconcilable opposition the Angels and the demons, the Saints and the precepts, the prophets of God and those of Satan.
Although promised in the Protoevangelium (cf. Gen 3:15), and despite many prefigurative episodes having occurred throughout time, the fullness of the clash between the head of the Serpent and the heel of the Virgin has not yet occurred. However, today we see the potentialities, or capacities for action, multiplying and accumulating on both sides to such an extent that we can truly affirm that our time brings truly apocalyptic perspectives.
Now, the Apocalypse is often presented exclusively and unilaterally as being a series of successive dramas, disastrous for everything and everyone… and this robs it of its main meaning: a beautiful liturgy – carried out by common agreement between the Angels and the just, under the command of the Slain Lamb himself – through which God avenges his honor, reestablishes justice and establishes his kingdom of peace; the peace of Jesus Christ and Mary, the only true and truly stable peace.
In fact, if we consider the seven thousand years of human events on earth, we will see that, unfortunately, alongside undoubtedly beautiful events, the Holy Trinity has allowed the devil to interfere in divine plans many times, interrupting and distorting them as he sees fit. This will soon change, with God assuming command of History, as all the prophets have announced, both in the Old and New Testaments.
In this sense, the prophecies of the secret of Fatima have a profound meaning, since they constitute the last link in a chain that connects Heaven to earth, and whose fulfillment will mark a before and after in the relations between God and men, through unpredictable and even unimaginable graces. We are now, therefore, on the brink of a new frontier in history.
