Message from Our Lady of Fatima

The Kingdom of Mary will come through an act of clemency on the part of Our Lady, since the statement “my Immaculate Heart will triumph” means that the mercy and goodness of Our Lady will triumph.

Newsdesk (13/05/2025 08:30, Gaudium PressAt the beginning of the 20th century, when the outline of a world that would be born from the victory of the Allies in the First World War was just beginning to take shape, one of the most notable facts in Contemporary History occurred: the Mother of God appeared and brought a Message to humanity.

And this Message came at a crucial moment. Impiety and impurity were spreading throughout the world, to such an extent that, in order to shake men, a true hecatomb had broken out, which was the Great War itself, as the Blessed Virgin affirmed to the little shepherds. However, the conflagration would end some time after her apparitions, giving sinners the opportunity to amend their ways.

Therefore, what Our Lady warned about in Cova da Iria was the existence of a prodigious crisis in society, which, in essence, was nothing more than the consequence of a religious crisis, which would lead to a catastrophe that was more moral than political. It would be a scourge for humanity if it did not heed the voice of the Queen of prophets. And, in this case, that evil would be followed by others: wars and persecutions of the Church and the Pope, martyrdoms, and several nations would be annihilated.

Our Lady thus indicated the extent of a calamity that would spread across the earth, at the end of which, however, Her Immaculate Heart would triumph.

The moral crisis continues to deepen

Despite Our Lady’s very clear warning, the moral crisis since 1917 has only become more pronounced. Fashions, laws and customs are increasingly openly defending crime, sin and aversion to God’s Law, the fruits of a secular and materialistic culture. A complete inversion of values is being established, an order of things that encourages vice and hinders the practice of virtue. And the central reason for this profound crisis is, without a doubt, the abandonment of Religion.

Humanity no longer lives for its Creator, but for itself. It has forgotten that its purpose on this earth is to love God and achieve the salvation of souls. Faced with such a dramatic situation, how can we expect that a regenerative intervention will not come upon the world? How could God ignore the immense crisis in which the world is submerged, due to the wickedness of men?

A change in society towards true conversion is becoming increasingly unlikely. And as we move towards the height of moral degradation, the more likely it is that the punishments prophesied by Our Lady will come to pass. Thus, we can only turn our gaze to a light that shines on the horizon of current events, and which invites us to trust in the promise she made a hundred years ago: “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”

The triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be the Kingdom of Mary, that is, the apex of History, when the most precious Blood of Christ, shed for our redemption, will produce its best fruits.

Kingdom of Mary

Why a Kingdom of Our Lady?

Because “it was through the Most Holy Virgin Mary that Jesus Christ came into the world, and it is also through Her that He must reign in the world”, teaches the great Mariologist Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, in his Treatise on True Devotion to the Most Holy Virgin.

However, one might ask: if Jesus Christ himself told Pilate that his Kingdom was not of this world (cf. Jn 18:36), how can we explain His reign through His Most Holy Mother here on earth? Wasn’t Saint Louis Grignion referring to Our Lady’s reign in eternity, after the centuries had ended? Or to her title of Queen of Heaven and earth, which she received as soon as she ascended to Heaven and was crowned by the Most Holy Trinity?

No. What Saint Louis Grignion affirms, when he speaks of a temporal reign of Mary, is that She will, in fact, be Queen of men and will exercise an effective government over humanity.

At that time, he says, “souls will breathe Mary, as bodies breathe air.” It will be a new historical era, in which grace will dwell in the hearts of most men, and they will be docile to the action of the Holy Spirit, through devotion to Mary: “Marvelous things will occur in this world, where the Holy Spirit, finding his beloved Spouse as if reproduced in souls, will come upon them abundantly and will fill them with his gifts, particularly the gift of wisdom, to work the wonders of grace.”

It will be a happy time, a “century of Mary, in which countless souls chosen and obtained from the Most High by Her, losing themselves in the abyss of their interior, will become living copies of Mary, to love and glorify Jesus Christ.”

The blazing fire of the Holy Spirit

However, how will all this be accomplished if we see our world in such a pitiful state? We even have difficulty imagining an era in which virtue and the aspiration for holiness reign among men…

It is still Saint Louis Grignion de Montfort who explains to us how this marvel will happen, in one of the most admirable prayers ever composed by anyone, his Burning Prayer: “The special Kingdom of God the Father lasted until the flood and ended with a flood of water; the Kingdom of Jesus Christ ended with a flood of blood, but your Kingdom, Spirit of the Father and the Son, continues until the present and will be ended with a flood of fire, of love and of justice.”

A rain of the blazing fire of the Holy Spirit must fall upon the earth, transforming souls, just as it happened with the Apostles (cf. Acts 2:3), gathered in the Upper Room with Mary Most Holy after the Ascension of Jesus (cf. Acts 1:14), in the early days of the nascent Church. From being fearful and cowardly during the Passion of Our Lord, they were transformed into heroes of the Faith, fearless and ready to do anything, to go into the whole world and preach “the Gospel to every creature” (Mk 16:15).

Therefore, we can say, with Saint Louis Grignion, that the life of the Church is a prolonged Pentecost, in which the Kingdom of the Holy Spirit is added to the Kingdom of Christ, as the latter was added to the Kingdom of God the Father. And in this Kingdom foreseen by him, temporal society will grow so much in dignity that men, even though living in this land of exile, will be similar to the inhabitants of Heaven.

Mary: Queen in the highest sense

The Kingdom of Mary will be the fullness of the Kingdom of Our Lord Jesus Christ, since devotion to Our Lady is the devotion, mercy and love of Our Lord taken to the utmost refinement.

Saint Bernard beautifully says that Our Lady, being the “Queen of Heaven, is merciful. And, above all, she is the Mother of the Only-Begotten Son of God. There is nothing that convinces us more of the greatness of her power or her piety, unless someone could doubt the honor that the Son of God gives to his Mother.”

Thus, this new historical era should be called, with all propriety, the Kingdom of Mary, precisely because the graces that the Church will receive will come through Her who is the Mediatrix of all graces. And it will indeed be necessary that devotion to Our Lady be complete, as She said in Fatima that it was God’s desire, so that Her Immaculate Heart may triumph. Now, when devotion to Her is complete, it is because She reigns and is Queen in the highest sense; therefore, it is the Kingdom of Mary.

The Kingdom of Mary will therefore be the glory of God, of His Most Holy Mother, and of the Holy Catholic Church; indeed, it will be such a splendor of the light of virtue that it will overcome, in dominion, the darkness of this age in which we live. It must contain within itself a reparation for all the evil done in the past, and especially in our days, ultimately accomplishing the will of God on this earth, as it is accomplished in Heaven.

Message of Fatima

In the Message of Fatima, therefore, it is clear that the coming of the Kingdom of Mary is something irreversible. But not only that, the reign of the Blessed Virgin will bring with it a new fullness and perfection to the Church, because punishment will be followed by mercy: the Kingdom of Mary will come through an act of clemency on the part of Our Lady, since the statement “my Immaculate Heart will triumph” means that the mercy and goodness of Our Lady will triumph. After obtaining a regenerating punishment for the world, She will fill it with gifts. The Kingdom of Mary will thus be a great reconciliation, indispensable for the Church to achieve the perfection to which she has been called.

The desire for the advent of the Kingdom of Mary must be present in the soul of every Catholic, like a breath of grace, a certainty placed in the soul by the action of the Holy Spirit, because whoever loses this hope is as if he has let the love for God go from his heart.
