According to Monsignor Remo Chiavarini, superintendent of the Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi, this is an experience that everyone should have at least once in their lives.

Rome – Italy (09/08/2023 16:51, Gaudium Press) In partnership with Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi (ORP), the Diocese of Rome is organizing three diocesan pilgrimages: the first to the Marian Shrine of Lourdes, the second to the Marian Shrine of Fatima and the third to the Holy Land.

Diocesan pilgrimage schedule
The pilgrimage to the Shrine of Lourdes in France, scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 1, will be attended by Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, His Holiness’ Vicar General for the Diocese of Rome.

The pilgrimage to the Shrine of Fatima, in Portugal, scheduled to take place from October 11 to 14, will be led by Monsignor Baldassare Reina, vicegerent of the Diocese of Rome.

Finally, the third and last international pilgrimage this year planned by the Diocese of Rome will be to the Holy Land. Monsignor Riccardo Lamba, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome, will accompany the pilgrims from November 16 to 23.

An experience that everyone should have at least once in their lives
According to Monsignor Remo Chiavarini, superintendent of the ORP, “the diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes has always been part of the Shrine’s own program”, while the pilgrimage to the Shrine of Fatima “always arouses a certain interest because it sees us gathered in communion with the Portuguese Church”.

Regarding the pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Monsignor Chiavarini says that it is “an experience that everyone should have at least once in their life to be dazzled by the charm of the places mentioned in Sacred Scripture. Entering this land means entering the most ancient history and culture through the testimonies of the civilizations that have passed through it”. (EPC)
