The aim of the campaign is to raise funds to sustain the evangelizing mission of the Church.
Newsroom (August 20, 2021, 4:25 PM, Gaudium Press) The Episcopal Conference of Colombia (CEC) is promoting a fundraising campaign entitled ‘Dona Nobis’. The initiative, which is in its seventh edition, will follow the motto “Donate love, give hope”.
The Church does not have enough resources to continue its work
“We know that this time has been full of challenges, that we have had to say goodbye to some people we love, that our Church has not had enough resources to continue its work. However, we have followed closely, accompanying and encouraging prayer, love, unity, service, and charity, no matter what. We want to keep doing this,” says an excerpt from a promotional video for the campaign.
What is collected will be invested in the management of projects, which will aid in the establishment of programs and evangelizing actions with the aim of helping, especially, communities in vulnerable situations in the 77 ecclesiastical jurisdictions (archdioceses, dioceses, and apostolic vicariates) in which the Church is organized in Colombia.
Raising funds to sustain the evangelizing mission of the Church
The objective of the campaign, therefore, is to raise funds to sustain the evangelizing mission of the Church. The faithful who wish to contribute and are able can do so through their own parishes. The CEC points out that the last Sunday of August, the 29th, was chosen to be the official day of this collection, although the faithful can make their offerings on any day. (EPC)
